As extreme sports become more popular, the dreaded melancholic winter days are becoming a bit more bearable and exciting.

If you are a sports lover, you’re probably aware that winter sports are adrenaline-fuelled. They can also get dangerous and thus require intense training and quite a bit of practice.

This is largely thanks to the harsh weather and rocky terrain they take place in.

Some require some specialized equipment as well. You might need to take out a loan to finance these. If you have bad credit, learn how to rebuild credit now.

Here, read about 4 top winter sports to help warm up your winter.

1. Snow Polo

Snow polo is essentially the Swiss version of regular polo. This sport has its roots in the affluent Swiss town of St Moritz.

This gave yield to the snow polo world cup that attracts players the world over.

Even regular polo players require a bit of training to adapt to playing the sport in snowy conditions.

2. Snow Kiting

Snow kiting is very similar to water-based kiteboarding. This fun wintertime sport has increasingly gained popularity in recent years.

To enjoy this sport, a power kite is used to slide on snow-capped terrains.

The most common kites used are inflammable, though recent kites are foil kites. The technology used in this sport is gradually getting better and better, making it much more enjoyable and safer for participants.

You will not need a bulky layer of clothing either, as the sport requires high energy levels. You will warm up a few minutes into it.

3. Ice Yachting

If you are looking for a fun activity to enjoy with family or a group of friends, this should be top of your list.

Ice yachts operate much like sailboats. However, they are crossed by an ice skate. Ice yachts are used to glide through the snow at a fast pace and performed as a sport by racing other ice yachts.

This growing sport is most popular in the US, Canada, Sweden, Norway, and the Gulf of Finland. If you want to enjoy the sport as a group, a 40ft ice yacht can fit 6 to 7 people.

Ice yachting used to be a way for the Dutch to transport food and goods during icy winter months. It has long morphed into an exhilarating, competitive sport.

4. Snow Kayaking

This is an excellent choice for adrenaline junkies, especially. This trendy sport combines kayaking, snowboarding, and speed riding, giving you the thrill of all three adventure sports.

Like most other winter sports, you need some specialized equipment to go snow kayaking. These include helmets and eye gear.

You also require a two-bladed paddle to help maintain your balance as you glide over snow.

Prepare Early

You need to plan ahead if you are to enjoy these sports come winter. This is mainly because you will need some equipment aside from training. Some of these can get expensive.

You can also consider taking out a loan to finance these activities. If you need to take a loan, starting early helps you repair your credit so you are more eligible to be granted one when the time comes.
